It's really so easy: download the SIP firmware from Cisco with your smartnet plan, add the next-server option to DHCP to point to your TFTP server, point to the SIP image you are using in a specific text file on the TFTP server, plug the phone in. I too read the articles and posts about people having negative experiences re-flashing Cisco phones with the SIP firmware and I have to say that I have nothing but good things to say about the experience so far. Maybe sip firmware doesn't support this kind of xml object? I've noticed that the problem is due to softkeys added in theĬode of new services and removing softkeys services run well. I try to use these new services I receive an xml parse error from the I've updated a Cisco 7960 with sip firmware and deployed to it new custom services.
